Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) is the process of monitoring quality inside a business. Internal is key; IQA focuses on quality inside a training provider or grant recipient. It is monitored by an internal member of staff. 

The Bikeability Trust expects all training providers and grant recipients to use IQA. This must be shown in an IQA plan, which should include: 

  • Appointing an IQA lead 
  • Observing instructors annually 
  • Mentoring instructors 
  • Peer review process 
  • Ensuring continuing professional development (CPD) for instructors 
  • Supporting new instructors 
  • Completing an annual self-assessment and action plan
